Primarily a white grape vineyard, we also have a block of red and ensure all of our red wines are barrel aged at least 3-5 years in our barrel cellar.     The first vines in Nova Scotia were planted in Bear River in 1611.     Boatskeg Distilling Co. is a distillery located in Pubnico, Nova Scotia, focused on premium spirits, canned ready to drink beverages, and craft cocktails.   • Horton Ridge Malt & Grain

    Horton Ridge is Nova Scotia's only malt house, and the only brewery in the Province to make its own malt. Horton Ridge practices the time honoured method of malting known as floor malting. Visitors can view the malting floor where organic grains are transformed to malt, the most important ingredient of beer. The rural setting of the taproom and patio allows expansive views of the surrounding countryside.     Ironworks Distillery is located by the sea in the heritage town of Lunenburg. The building was erected in 1893 and for the next 110 years operated as a marine blacksmith shop, creating iron fittings for the sailing vessels built in the town.     Lightfoot & Wolfville is a Demeter-certified biodynamic farm-winery located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia on Canada’s Atlantic coast. The name of the winery - “Lightfoot & Wolfville” - represents the connection of people and place (Lightfoot is our surname and Wolfville being the name of the town), a relationship that is at the heart of everything we do. While our journey in wine growing first began in 2009 with the initial planting of grapevines, our family’s farming roots go back eight generations in the Annapolis Valley - four generations on our current home farm land where the winery sits today. Our focus is on cool-climate wines that speak of their origin, including traditional method sparkling wines, aromatic whites, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In addition to nurturing nearly 40 acres of grapevines for wine production, we operate as a working biodynamic farm that also grows ingredients for the winery’s farm-to-table restaurant, including heirloom vegetables, herbs, grass-fed Highland beef, Southdown lamb and Mangalitsa pork. Around this time, the Charming Molly set sail from New England carrying the first New England Planters.     Explore the Habitation at Port-Royal, a reconstruction of a small French compound and home to the original "Order of Good Cheer" founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1605.
