  • Breton Brewing Co.

Independently born, crafted by passion. Ask about the people behind our beer, and you’ll find the answer none too difficult. Cape Breton has always been as harsh as it is beautiful, as barren as it is rich. Anything wondrous growing here, does so more out of determination than fertile soil. And so when it came time to name our brewery and the beers we serve, there was only one option. The brewery is named for the land it hails from. The beer, for the legends that have made our Island what it is. Every sip represents our homage to a longstanding Cape Breton tradition: to make greatness in the most unexpected of places. Come join us for Trivia Nights, Live Music, Tours, Special Events and sample some of the best craft beer Nova Scotia has to offer from this award winning brewery!

  • Saltbox Brewery

Like the building of a historical Saltbox, brewing small batches of quality beer is a deeply rooted expression of the heritage and craftsmanship found in Nova Scotia. The Saltbox house is identified by its sloping gable roof that gives it the asymmetrical shape of a lidded wooden box used to store salt during Loyalist times. In those days, most brewing and drinking was done in the home. Some say the lower roof line jutting out from the main part of the house was an addition to allow owners to incorporate a small brew room onto their living quarters. The resurgence of craft brewing marks a renaissance of the kind of local brewing that took place before the Industrial Revolution – when making beer was a standard household chore as integral as baking bread. Incorporating the iconic Maritime architecture of the saltbox house into our logo is our nod to the notion that quality, small-batch beer brewing started in the home. At Salt Box Brewing Company, we celebrate the development of the skills and artistry required to create fresh, full-flavoured beer for consumption by the local community. Our motto: “think social, and drink local”.

  • Steinhart Distillery

Craft distilling is a rich Steinhart family tradition over 300 years in the making. Thomas Steinhart still remembers coming of age in rural Germany, where he spent many happy hours helping his grandfather stoke the woodfired still. Though the fire has long since extinguished and the family farm has been sold, the joy of using natural ingredients to craft superb spirits is still ablaze in Thomas’ memory. Thomas Steinhart is a bold personality, with a flair for rebellion and living life on his own terms. Now, after travelling the world for work, Thomas is ready to settle down on his farm in Antigonish, NS, and revive his family’s heritage by launching Steinhart Distillery. When coming to Steinhart Distillery you will have the option to experience a tour of the distillery and taste some of our famous products. We have a wide range of cocktails on our menu; anywhere from gin and tonics to our special sweetheat drink. Not only do you get to experience our friendly staff but you get to enjoy our beautiful view of the northumberland straight. Come on out and give us a try.

      Distillery • Grand Pré
Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley

Wander our garden, boozy popsicle in hand or—for the somewhat abstemious—a rose petal ice-cream. From century-old quince and pear trees to orderly rows of lavender, tarragon, rosemary, you will meet the fruits, herbs and flowers with which we infuse our liquors. Walk the labyrinth, enjoy the views of the Minas Basin, then stop into the shop to sample innovative concoctions from Spicy Cucumber and Dill to Damson Plum and Basil. Licensed for over ten years, we hand-craft liquors to add a fresh twist to your cocktail, enliven a sparkling wine, elevate a simple desert to something scrumptious.

  • Tatamagouche Brewing Co.

At our open concept brewery, we offer complimentary sampling as well as an ever changing menu of our organic beer available for flights. 4oz pours ($2) each - flights of 6 ($12) as well as 10 oz pours for $6 each. During brew days you are able to sit, drink and watch the brewer create the very thing you are drinking! Our Story: Many years ago, a two-headed calf came to Tatamagouche. We think it's no coincidence that he happened to show up here. After all, Tatamagouche is a place of many strange and wonderful things. It's a little town with big ideas. A town that's always looking forward while still keeping an eye on the past. Since we opened in 2014 we have transformed the old butcher shop as well as the town library into the brewery, retail and tasting area. This two-headed place is our home and it inspired us to make good beer for good people. Beer that just happens to be a mix of the traditional and the unexpected. We are the Tatamagouche Brewing Company. Let's raise a glass to Pure Tatamagoodness.

  • The Townhouse Brewpub & Eatery

The Townhouse is a cozy, bustling community supported pub in the heart of downtown Antigonish. Our focus is Nova Scotian craft beer, and fresh, rustic, local food of excellent quality. We have 9 taps of NS microbrews, including 2 of our own ales brewed on site - Terry's Best Bitter, cask-conditioned, and served on a traditional hand pump, and Terry’s Dry Irish Stout, on nitrogen on the creamer faucet. We also feature local spirits, 9 wines by the glass, local oysters, and daily specials. We source all our beef, pork, and lamb, from a local family run butchers shop, free range chicken, rabbit and duck from small scale Antigonish County farmers, seafood from Halifax based sustainable fishmonger, Afishianado, and local lobster fishermen/oyster producers – and feature local produce from several small-scale market gardeners in season. Our kitchen makes all our dishes, right down to the breads, desserts, patés, pickles, dressings, and chutneys from scratch, in house. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and genuine. Although inspired by the traditional neighbourhood pubs of the UK and Ireland, the Antigonish community and our wonderful regulars give the pub it's real colour. Thursday nights we feature live jazz, and Sunday nights we offer a Sunday Roast and an excellent Irish traditional music session.
